A Samsung insider says that a couple of former flagships will get updated to the latest version of Android 4.4.2 KitKat within the next couple of months. Namely, the Galaxy S3 and Note 2 should get the update by the end of March this year.

Samsung responds to Knox vulnerability accusations

Samsung Knox security software is continuously gaining popularity among the corporate businesses. And while the US Department of Defense was considering using the Knox-protected Galaxy S4 for its staff, cyber security researchers at Ben Gurion University of the Negev in Israel discovered a serious vulnerability.

Toshiba is set to launch a brand new camera module with unique hardware which will refocus all of the photos you take on your smartphone. Known as the TCM9518MD, the module packs dual 5MP sensors and a separate processing chip which will capture all image and depth data in a picture. With this new technology, Toshiba says that consumers will soon be able to take pictures that are not currently possible with normal lenses.

According to a news report from Taiwan-based DigiTimes, a squeeze on fingerprint modules for smartphones is expected to occur during the first half of 2014. At least part of the reason for this is the expectation that Samsung is moving forward with plans to adopt fingerprint scanners from manufacturer Validity for their upcoming high-end models. This could potentially start with the Samsung Galaxy S5 expected to be released in the next few months.
